How to work with me: THE VISION

This color has nothing to do with your wedding aesthetic 🙂

Mood boards like the examples on this page are one of my go-to tools for collaborating with couples and ensuring their vision comes to life. For me, it’s not just about snapping photos; it’s about crafting iconic, personal images that feel like you.

I start by diving into your inspiration—whether it’s Pinterest boards, favorite movies or scenes, album covers, or even a vibe from your favorite song.

Together, we can map out your wedding day’s style, mood, and energy. From lighting and poses to how a dress flows or a room is arranged before a picture is taken, the mood board can help set the tone for everything.

Even imagery of plants and foliage can evoke an emotional quality.

I’m not a “fly-on-the-wall” photographer— or a photojournalist; rather than just capturing what is happening around us, I will direct the scene.

Any planning ahead of time can always make for even more gorgeous photos, which has always been my goal, and I bet yours as well!

Great photographs have a larger-than-life quality to them. They can make you feel things that you can't even put your finger on.

Homework: This exercise is just a starting point. Spend time looking through Pinterest, Instagram, or SAVEE images. Watch that film that makes you feel wonderful, and take some shots of your favorite scenes. What is that fleeting feeling you get when you look at these images? It doesn’t need to make sense yet. Nor does this requested content have to be about weddings.

Take screenshots or make a “board” to hold your discoveries and share them with me.

This board will differ from a mood board you might give your wedding planner. A planner is more concerned with creating your wedding's color story and logistics rather than with what your wedding photos will look like.

With more discussion, we will craft a shot list of special must-have images, and I’ll guide you and direct you to get the perfect shots while still keeping it authentic and effortless. This process helps us create photos that are bold, unique, and totally you.

Sidenote: If this feels overwhelming, don’t worry—it’s meant to be fun, just like your wedding day will be. Think of it as a creative way to share what matters most. No matter what, I’ll always have your best interests at heart and capture you both at your absolute best. This exercise simply helps me understand what you truly value and want to cherish in your wedding photography.
