Hello, I’m Ivy

I am the founder and principal photographer of THE GOLD COLLECTIVE. I started shooting with my grandpa’s 35mm film camera in high school. Processing film and printing my work in the darkroom quickly became a lifelong passion. I hold a BFA in Photography from CCA in the Bay Area and have over 20 years of professional experience in photography, art direction, creative strategy, and visual curation.

My photography style is rooted in capturing timeless, authentic moments with an effortless, romantic vibe. I focus on the candid and unfiltered—those fleeting moments, playful embraces, and the genuine joy shared between people. But it’s also worth noting that I am obsessed with capturing beauty, and I will arrange the room, space, clothing, people, etc., to get the look I am after. I would never consider my style photojournalistic, nor am I a “fly-on-the-wall” shooter. I will direct you to get the images just right. I want you to love how you look in your photos – even if you are doing something silly or just being yourself.

I draw inspiration from music, film, and art, and I absolutely adore shooting weddings. It’s about capturing a love story through authentic, unfiltered moments that feel iconic, romantic, and beautiful while remaining deeply personal.

Remember that your wedding can be the perfect time to bring your photographic dreams to life—this is your moment to play, create, and let your imagination run wild. What imagery do you want to see hanging on the walls of your home?

My work has appeared in Martha Stewart, Brides, Vogue, The Knot, California Wedding Day, 100 Layer Cake, and countless others.
